At Tip Top insulation we commonly get asked to remove old unsulation. Below are jsut a few of the common questions we get asked.
It is optional to clean the ceiling before installing the new material?
Yes, cleaning the ceiling is an optional process. However this can vary depending on what is in your ceiling. On occasion we can lay new Batts over your existing insulation, however if there is a lot of rubbish, dust, animal droppings, etc or if your insulation is not doing it’s job then we may recommend removal and cleaning. In this circumstance we will vacuum your ceiling and then lay the new insulation – giving you your greatest in-house comfort.
What is the process of cleaning my ceiling?
To clean your ceiling we use a trailer mounted commercial vacuum cleaner. This vacuums all the dirt, rubbish, animal droppings, old cellulose, seaweed, recycled paper, etc into a 400 litre bag. After the ceiling is clean, we seal the bag and put it on the trailer to be safely disposed of afterwards at the dump. If there are old Batts we will remove them first by putting them into bags in the ceiling and then afterwards we will vacuum all the dust.
Will there be any mess in our home?
No, as we access your ceiling through your roof either by removing tiles or iron. We carefully bag any old Batts and load them on the trailer ready to be safely dumped later.
